At the end of the festival weeks, the grand finale is coming up: the "Pietro Antonio Cesti" Baroque Opera Singing Competition.

After the preliminary rounds, the best participants in the competition must face the jury and audience once again in the final concert, competing for the coveted prizes. The most talented candidates can hope to take part in the Baroque Opera: Young 2026, among other things. The audience in the Great Hall in the House of Music also plays a key role: voting for the audience award.

The Cesti competition has long since become a springboard for international singing careers. Former prizewinners such as Sophie Rennert, Emöke Baráth, Rupert Charlesworth and Arianna Vendittelli now sing on the most sought-after concert stages in the world. And the stars of tomorrow are already waiting!
