Although the works of the French baroque composer Jean-Philippe Rameau have experienced a renaissance since the beginning of the 20th century, they are still relatively unknown in Germany. And that despite the fact that, in addition to his chamber music and his writings on music theory, Rameau's stage works in particular - including ballet operas, lyrical tragedies and comedies - are still considered groundbreaking today. It is precisely for this reason that the Belgian tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen, celebrated for his vocal versatility, and his ensemble a nocte temporis are now presenting a diverse program that captures the fascinating sound cosmos of Jean-Philippe Rameau and his contemporaries. And last but not least, on his debut in 2018 at the Berlin State Opera in Rameau's "Hippolyte et Aricie" under Sir Simon Rattle, Reinoud Van Mechelen proved

Zwar erleben die Werke des französischen Barockkomponisten Jean-Philippe Rameau seit Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts eine Renaissance, jedoch sind sie in Deutschland immer noch eher unbekannt. Und das, obwohl neben seiner Kammermusik und seinen musiktheoretischen Schriften insbesondere die Bühnenwerke Rameaus – darunter Ballettopern, lyrische Tragödien und Komödien – bis heute als bahnbrechend gelten. Genau aus diesem Grund präsentieren nun der für seine stimmliche Wandlungsfähigkeit gefeierte belgische Tenor Reinoud Van Mechelen und sein Ensemble a nocte temporis ein vielfältiges Programm, das den faszinierenden Klangkosmos Jean-Philippe Rameaus und seiner Zeitgenossen einfängt. Und nicht zuletzt bei seinem Debüt 2018 an der Staatsoper Berlin in Rameaus „Hippolyte et Aricie“ unter Sir Simon Rattle hat Reinoud Van Mechelen unter Beweis gestellt, dass die Haute-Contre-Partien des französischen Komponisten wie für ihn geschaffen sind.
