Gloriana is a brilliant and thought-provoking portrait of the public duty versus private tribulations of a queen. As part of the Britten Centenary celebrations it returns to the Royal Opera House after an absence of nearly twenty years.

The music is an excerpt from the complete world premiere broadcast of Gloriana in 1953.
