Since the premiere on December 23, 1893 at the Hoftheater in Weimar under the musical direction of Richard Strauss, the children's parlor festival has become an integral part of the repertoire of international opera houses, as the composer himself called it. Obviously, on the occasion of the Humperdinck year 2021 (100th anniversary of his death), after a long time, the Bonn opera will once again present a new production of the play - especially since large parts of the opera are here in the parents-in-law's villa, located in the triangle between the south of Poppelsdorf and Kessenich and thus Bonn (beyond its proximity to the city of birth) is inextricably linked with the history of HÄNSEL UND GRETEL. Momme Hinrichs (bold-Film) is responsible for the staging and set design, who is also responsible for the videos with his colleague Torge Møller.
