Welcome to this concert - the first in our recital series for 2023 - which combines the warmth of the spirit of Brazil with the dark and somewhat bleak winter journey of Schubert's famous song cycle and one of his beautiful 'moments musicaux'.

These contrasting musical offerings are a vivid reminder that composers can create extraordinary sound worlds and prompt a host of different responses in the listening audience.
