Med sin rugende og uheldssvangre stemning fortæller Il Tabarro historien om ejeren af en parisisk flodpram, som mistænker sin yngre hustru for at være utro med en af havnearbejderne.

 

Det er en rigtig opera-thriller om skinsyge, forsmået kærlighed og bristede fremtidsdrømme. Il Tabarro betyder “kappen”, og henviser til den mandlige hovedpersons omfangsrige kostume: En kappe, som beskytter ens kære under det tykke stof – men som også kan skjule drabelige hemmeligheder.

 

Briterne instruktør Daisy Evans og scenograf Kat Heath, har skabt en fantasifuld iscenesættelse på Festivalscenen, som inddrager Den Røde Plads i en oversvømmet fremtidsforestilling med neonskilte og huse under vand. På scenen finder du Ulrich Stærk på piano, Yngvild Ruud på akkordeon og otte herboende og internationale solister.

 

Med Il Tabarro fortsætter Copenhagen Opera Festival sin opsætning af Puccinis tre énaktere. Sidste år kunne du opleve Gianni Schicchi i endnu en stedsspecifik version på Børsen, og til næste år venter Suor Angelica, som fuldender Il Trittico.

 

Kom til den gratis forestilling på Den Røde Plads og mærk flodens langsomme fremdrift, som både driver prammen og historien frem.

Big voices, big emotions and big dramas! Experience a concentrated opera treat in a single act. Puccini's Il Tabarro is an excellent introduction to the world of opera.
With its brooding and ominous atmosphere, Il Tabarro tells the story of the owner of a Parisian river barge who suspects his younger wife of cheating with one of the dock workers.

 

It is a real opera thriller about hypocrisy, scorned love and broken dreams for the future. Il Tabarro means "the cloak", and refers to the male protagonist's voluminous costume: A cloak which protects one's loved ones under the thick fabric - but which can also hide deadly secrets.

 

British director Daisy Evans and scenographer Kat Heath have created an imaginative staging on the Festival Stage, which involves Red Square in a flooded vision of the future with neon signs and houses under water. On stage you will find Ulrich Stærk on piano, Yngvild Ruud on accordion and eight local and international soloists.

 

With Il Tabarro , the Copenhagen Opera Festival continues its staging of Puccini's three one-act plays. Last year you could experience Gianni Schicchi in yet another location-specific version at Børsen, and next year Suor Angelica awaits , which completes Il Trittico .

 

Come to the free performance on Red Square and feel the slow progress of the river, which propels both the barge and the story forward.
