In the “Weißes Rössl” on Lake Wolfgang, happiness is just around the corner! Namely in the form of the landlady Josepha and her waiter Leopold. With the guests from Berlin, there are also all sorts of emotional and love confusions ... but the whole world remains sky blue. The attraction of Ralph Benatzky's musical creation lies above all in his ability to conjure up moods on stage that nobody can resist. In the Weißer Rössl , an Austrian alpine idyll is paired with the Berlin big city flair of the early 1930s in a tongue-in-cheek manner. Benatzky's humour, his musical signature, the verve of his composition and his carefree joy in making music make him one of the most extraordinary representatives of musical entertainment theatre. Benatzky's art is rooted in the smallest, weightless form, the chanson. It was also the starting point for his work on the Weißer Rössl, a successful mixture of comedy, farce, operetta and revue. Authors and composers have created a stage work from their own and historical material as well as inserts from famous pop composers, with titles that are all catchy tunes like The whole world is sky blue , My love song must be a waltz , What can Sigismund do for being so beautiful , or watching it has become one of the most popular operettas of all time. Christa Ratzenböck, who last shone in Klagenfurt in Der Rosenkavalier , is on the stage as Josepha in the Weisses Rössl . Other roles include Erwin Belakowitsch, TV star Ralph Morgenstern and audience favorite Harald Serafin.
