"Iolanta" - the last opera by Peter Ilyich Tchaikovsky, is rightly considered the brightest opera by the composer. The touching story of the blind girl Iolanta, contains a great humanistic thought. The eternal darkness in which the girl lives carefree becomes a symbol of mental blindness. Only love and compassion ignite in Iolanta's heart a passionate desire to see the world.
The opera is perceived as an enthusiastic, radiant hymn of love, revealing the best aspects of the human soul, carrying with it the light of knowledge.
