Spotted in Aix-en-Provence in 2017 where he became an HSBC laureate of the Festival Academy, Jakub Józef Orliński, at 30, is one of the most prominent countertenors of the new generation. After a remarkable debut in Erismena at the Festival d'Aix-en-Provence, his interpretation of Rinaldo at the Frankfurt Opera launched his career. Since then, he has performed at Carnegie Hall in New York, with Les Arts Florissants, at the Glyndebourne Festival, under the direction of Emmanuelle Haïm... with constant success. "Orlinski is an authentic countertenor, one of the best I've seen on an operatic stage: exceptional legato, no drop in intensity in the low register, perfect diction, superb ability to embody" said Roger Parker in Opera Review in October 2019.
