And then there are the black humorous songs by the Viennese singer-songwriter and pianist Georg Kreisler, which – like the title of his most famous record Everblacksalready indicated - are imperishable and in their artistry are in no way inferior to the classical art song. Kreisler tells in his ballads so vividly that they almost invite to a scenic implementation. When these then meet the absurd New Galgenlieder by Christian Morgenstern, which were set to music by Paul Graener in 1917, and Heinz Erhardt and the Saxon Joachim Ringelnatz add their mustard with their shaken puns, then it really hits thirteen!
