Music is a permanent part of Christmas celebrations. The deeply rooted tradition of expressing community joy through singing has found its special dimension in the custom of carolling. Although today it is rare to meet carol singers going from house to house, once the music and wishes carried by them were common and generously rewarded. The multi-verse texts of the beautiful Christmas songs that have been preserved and sung to this day are filled with folk wisdom. They contain both a universal message and characteristic elements of local rituals. Artists of the Polish Royal Opera cordially invite you to traditional music making, which will put you in the mood of the approaching Christmas.

Muzyka na stałe wpisana jest w obchody Świąt Bożego Narodzenia. Głęboko zakorzeniona tradycja wyrażania wspólnotowej radości poprzez śpiew znalazła swój szczególny wymiar w zwyczaju kolędowania. Choć dziś nieczęsto można spotkać chodzących od domu do domu kolędników, to niegdyś niesione przez nich muzyka oraz życzenia były powszechne oraz szczodrze wynagradzane.  Wielozwrotkowe teksty zachowanych i śpiewanych do dziś przepięknych bożonarodzeniowych pieśni przepełnia ludowa mądrość. Zawierają one w sobie zarówno uniwersalne przesłanie, jak i charakterystyczne elementy lokalnej obrzędowości.
