Expressing love through singing has a long tradition, to mention only the songs of medieval troubadours and Renaissance madrigals. On Valentine's Day, the Łódź Philharmonic invites you to a choir concert with songs about love. The FŁ Choir will perform, which has been working for the second season under the direction of choirmaster Artur Koza. The performance, dominated by a cappella songs, will show the beauty and coherence of the band's sound, and the diverse repertoire will allow us to present different approaches to the theme of love in music over the centuries: we will hear, among others, romantic songs in the rhythm of a waltz by Johannes Brahms, a melody inspired by folk music by Zuzanna Falkowska "Z the other side of the water" or "Rose" by the contemporary Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo. “I believe that every vocal group needs to tackle a cappella songs to show their full potential,” emphasizes Artur Koza. – The Łódź Philharmonic Choir is fully ready to present such a repertoire, as proven by the August finale of Colors of Poland. In February, March and May we invite you to concerts during which the star of the evening will be the choir. I chose the program to show listeners that choral music can be pleasant and easy to listen to, and at the same time very valuable and giving great satisfaction. I want to show that not only the orchestra has incredible power, but the choir itself can also express many emotions and show many colors. I hope that such concerts will be a permanent part of the repertoire of subsequent seasons and will become a tradition at the Łódź Philharmonic.
