Schwanengesang , or Swan Song , a collection of Schubert's last lieder, is marked by a variety that has little to do with the composer's coming death. Light or dramatic, associated with the poets Heine or Seidl, they represent Schubert's testament to the genre in which he excelled. The German baritone Konstantin Krimmel, with soft flights and intriguing basses, winner of various international competitions, rising figure of the recital, will be accompanied by the Scottish pianist Malcolm Martineau, a lieder specialist who has multiplied the recordings.
