Not only in large symphonic ensembles, but also as the Konzerthaus Kammerorchester, our musicians regularly gather together under the direction of our first concertmasters. In this case, Suyoen Kim leads the ensemble and is also the soloist for Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto in D Minor. The young Felix Mendelssohn composed the work in 1822 at the age of 13, inspired by his violin teacher and the music of Bach. His world-famous Concerto in E Minor was composed more than two decades later.

Nicht nur in großer sinfonischer Besetzung, auch als Konzerthaus Kammerorchester finden sich unsere Musikerinnen und Musiker regelmäßig unter Leitung unserer 1. Konzertmeister*innen zusammen. In diesem Fall leitet Suyoen Kim das Ensemble und ist zugleich Solistin in Mendelssohns d-Moll-Konzert. Das komponierte der junge Felix 1822 bereits als 13-Jähriger, inspiriert von seinem Geigenlehrer und der Musik Bachs. Sein weltberühmtes e-Moll-Konzert entstand erst über zwei Jahrzehnte später.
