"La bohème" ("Bohemian") is a four-act opera with music composed by Giacomo Puccini, on a libretto by Giuseppe Giacosa and Luigi Illica, based on the novel "Scènes de la vie de bohème" by Henri Murger. The premiere of the opera took place in Turin, the "Regio Theater", on February 1, 1896, under the direction of the conductor Arturo Toscanini, who was at the beginning of his career
