the story
In the Latin Quarter, a group of penniless students struggle against daily misery by living happily on love and fresh water. Two couples are formed, full of contrasts: the little seamstress Mimi and her poet Rodolfo make their love at first sight vibrate and declare their love to their friends during Christmas evening, while the painter Marcello faces Musette's brilliant strokes, his flighty mistress. But soon, Mimi and Rodolfo no longer get along and end up breaking up. In reality, Mimi knows she is condemned by tuberculosis.

When I take a work, I carefully read the author's instructions. These few words written at the end of the distribution of La Bohème: “The action is in Paris, in the Latin Quarter, in winter 1830” challenged me. Indeed, the “Trois Glorieuses” of July 1830 were followed by a very cold winter which partly explains Mimi’s illness. These three tumultuous days saw a youth uprising, riots broke out, and then a revolution was born. Barricades have been erected in the districts of Paris.
