The City of Lies: World Premiere | Teatro Real 200 years 16/17

World premiere of the opera 'La ciudad de las mentiras', by Elena Mendoza and Matthias Rebstock, commissioned by the Teatro Real. A polyphony of characters, places and situations surround the structure of La Ciudad de las Lies, the premiere of Elena Mendoza at the Teatro Real. The opera by the Spanish composer, based on four stories by Juan Carlos Onetti, tells the story of a miniature city where four women create a parallel universe through dreams and stories to escape from their own reality, and in which lies it stands as the basis of social relations.
