In ancient Rome, around 80 AD, the magnanimous Emperor Tito loves Berenice, but Vitellia, devoured by her ambition, wants to marry him in order to gain power. Taking advantage of the love given to her by Sesto, Tito's best friend, she convinces him to assassinate her. The plot is unmasked and Tito, the benevolent, responds to the affront with clemency. In 1791, while Mozart was working at Die Zauberflöte , he received a commission for an opera to celebrate the coronation of Leopold II as King of Bohemia. In three weeks, La Clemenza di Tito is tied up. Deploying a free song that gives pride of place to female voices, Mozart minimizes recitatives, shows the best of himself by mastering orchestral and choral forces. The ensembles are particularly meticulous, the great arias offer a unique and limpid beauty and raise La Clemenza di Tito to the rank of absolute masterpieces.

At the service of this unique moment, on stage, performers with exceptional charisma and voice will be accompanied by an ensemble bringing together the best international musicians playing on period instruments. This concertante version offers you an immersion in the heart of the music of the 18th century, as if for one evening you were going back to the time of the great dynasties and were part of the Court of Bohemia . Un rendez-vous à ne pas manquer : Cecilia Bartoli, John Osborn « and many more », dans une version concertante d’un des chefs-d’œuvre de l’éclatant Mozart : La Clemenza di Tito ! La tournée s’arrête en Belgique, et c’est à Liège, date unique !
Dans la Rome antique, vers 80 de notre ère, le magnanime empereur Tito aime Bérénice, mais Vitellia dévorée par son ambition veut l’épouser pour accéder au pouvoir. Profitant de l’amour que lui voue Sesto, le meilleur ami de Tito, elle le convainc de l’assassiner. Le complot est démasqué et Tito, le bienveillant, répond à l’affront par la clémence. Il pardonne.

En 1791, alors que Mozart travaille à Die Zauberflöte, il reçoit la commande d’un opéra destiné à célébrer le couronnement de Léopold II comme roi de Bohême. En trois semaines, La Clemenza di Tito est ficelé. Déployant un chant libre qui fait la part belle aux voix féminines, Mozart minimise les récitatifs, montre le meilleur de lui-même en maîtrisant les forces orchestrales et chorales. Les ensembles sont particulièrement soignés, les grands airs offrent une unique et limpide beauté et portent La Clemenza di Tito au rang des chefs-d’œuvre absolus.

Au service de ce moment unique, sur scène, des interprètes au charisme et à la voix exceptionnels seront accompagnés par un ensemble réunissant les meilleurs musiciens internationaux jouant sur instruments anciens.
