Betörende Klänge wusste Agostino Steffani, Bischof und Papst-Diplomat, zu komponieren! Sein prachtvoll barockes Werk zählt zu den jüngst gefeierten Wiederentdeckungen. Nun nimmt sich ein Star-Ensemble des Divertimentos über den verliebten Herkules an.

Es ist ein funkelndes Fest der Countertenöre (Jake Arditti, Terry Wey und Xavier Sabata), die sich rund um einen strahlenden Sopran scharen: Die virtuose Miriam Kutrowatz verkörpert die Königstochter Deianira, welche Herkules liebt, aber auch vom Flussgott Acheloo begehrt wird. Um diesen nicht zu verärgern, schlägt sie ihrem Vater Eneo einen Zweikampf der Rivalen vor – den Herkules gewinnt, und mit ihm die geliebte Prinzessin. Eine mythologische Romanze, getaucht in sinnliche und beschwingte Töne.

Agostino Steffani, bishop and papal diplomat, knew how to compose beguiling sounds! His magnificent baroque work is one of the most recently celebrated rediscoveries. Now a star ensemble takes on the divertimento about Hercules in love.

It is a sparkling celebration of countertenors (Jake Arditti, Terry Wey and Xavier Sabata), who gather around a radiant soprano: The virtuoso Miriam Kutrowatz embodies the king's daughter Deianira, who loves Hercules but is also desired by the river god Acheloo. In order not to upset him, she suggests to her father Eneo a duel between rivals - which Hercules wins, and with him the beloved princess. A mythological romance immersed in sensual and lively tones.
