Of the four Bach sons who became famous as composers, Johann Christian Bach was the youngest. Born in Leipzig in 1735, his path led via Italy to London, where he founded a successful concert company with Karl Friedrich Abel and met the 8-year-old Mozart in 1764, whose style he decisively influenced. Among his works, which prepared the ground for Viennese classicism, there are numerous operas and over sixty symphonies. Riccardo Minasi has put together a concert program from this, which he is presenting with the Orchestra La Scintilla. The young soprano Anna El-Khashem, who was last heard as Susanna in Paris under Gustavo Dudamel, sings selected arias.
