Wednesday 10 April at 8 pm one of Vincenzo Bellini's most popular bel canto masterpieces returns to the Regio stage: La sonnambula; conducting the Orchestra and Choir of the Teatro Regio will be maestro Renato Balsadonna; on stage, the voices of Ekaterina Sadovnikova (Amina), Antonino Siragusa (Elvino), Nicola Ulivieri (Rodolfo); the choir is instructed by maestro Andrea Secchi. The staging of the Teatro Regio is made in co-production with the Teatro la Fenice in Venice. The production is realized with the contribution of Italgas, founding partner of the Teatro Regio. Bellini's melodrama comes back to life on the stage in the historic staging by Mauro Avogadro. Completing the cast: Daniela Cappiello (Lisa), Nicole Brandolino (Teresa), Gabriele Ribis (Alessio) and Alejandro Escobar / Vito Martino (notary). During the eight performances, from 10 to 20 April, the roles of the protagonists will alternate: Hasmyk Torosyan (Amina), Pietro Adaini (Elvino), Riccardo Fassi (Rodolfo) and Ashley Milanese (Lisa). The sets are by Giacomo Andrico, the costumes by Giovanna Buzzi and the lights by Andrea Anfossi. Ola Cavagna is a collaborating director, the mimic movements are by Anna Maria Bruzzese, Maria Antonietta Lucarelli is assistant to the costumes. The phenomenon of sleepwalking and insanity in general is, in opera, a way to exalt vocal virtuosity. Bellini excels in radiating with his lyric style the tender and hard-won love between the protagonists, whom he entrusts with enchanting music.
