As it has for ten years now, the Festival opens with 200.Com A project for the city , in its 8 th edition. The Arena is transformed into a film set reminiscent of settings and characters from Charlie Chaplin’s Modern Times or the Marx Brothers’ Animal crackers. The show is set in the factory that produces car parts, mechanical parts, the engine oil… Elisir! Sets and costumes as in a vintage sepia-toned postcard, stylized movements, actions built on the musical structure, expressionist lighting that generates deep shadows, are some of the characteristics of the unforgettable films mentioned in the show. Singers and characters recall funny and melancholic figures from the silent films by Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Marx Brothers, etc. The choir is one of the true lead of this adaptation: workers, secretaries, managers, cleaners, with physical gags will animate the Arena space, as if they were in Modern Times. Starring AsLiCo singers, winners and finalists of past editions of the Competition for Young Opera Singers.

After a two-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the 200 project Com ! Our choristers, who have been preparing since October every Monday evening, are looking forward to the new debut.

Dopo una pausa di due anni a causa della pandemia, torna finalmente in scena il progetto 200.Com! I nostri coristi, che si stanno preparando dal mese di ottobre tutti i lunedì sera, non vedono l’ora del nuovo debutto.

In scena un Elisir d’amore che ricorda “un film muto degli anni ’30 del Novecento – racconta il regista Manuel Renga – e le ambientazioni e i personaggi di Modern times di Charlie Chaplin o di Animal crackers dei Fratelli Marx”. Lo spettacolo è ambientato nella fabbrica che produce ricambi per automobili, parti meccaniche, olio per motori… Elisir!. Scenografia e costumi come in una cartolina vintage dai toni seppia, movimenti stilizzati, azioni costruite sulla struttura musicale, luci espressioniste che generano ombre profonde, sono alcune delle caratteristiche dei film indimenticabili che ritroveremo citati nello spettacolo. I cantanti e i personaggi richiamano tante figure divertenti e malinconiche dei film muti di Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, fratelli Marx ecc. Il coro è uno dei veri protagonisti di quest’opera: operai e le operaie, segretarie, dirigenti, addetti alle pulizie, che con gag fisiche e movimenti animano lo spazio dell’Arena, immaginando di essere nella fabbrica di Tempi Moderni.
