A major figure in the international musical scene for decades now, Georgian Eliso Virsaladze is regarded as one of the greatest pianists of our era. The great Sviatoslav Richter made no secret of the fact that he considered her to be an ideal interpreter of Schumann, which certainly fuels our keen anticipation of her performance of the great German Romantic composer’s Piano concerto with the Athens State Orchestra. On the podium for this evening’s concert will be the young Lithuanian conductor Izabelė Jankauskaitė, who, although starting out on her career, already has significant distinctions and performances to her credit.

Η Γεωργιανή πιανίστα Ελισό Βιρσαλάτζε, μεσουρανεί στα διεθνή μουσικά δρώμενα εδώ και δεκαετίες και έχει εκτιμηθεί ως μία από τις μεγαλύτερες πιανίστριες της εποχής μας. Ο μεγάλος Σβιατοσλάβ Ρίχτερ δεν έκρυβε πως τη θεωρούσε ιδανική ερμηνεύτρια του Σούμαν και αυτό σίγουρα μεγεθύνει την αξία της ερμηνείας της στο κοντσέρτο του μεγάλου Γερμανού Ρομαντικού με την Κρατική Ορχήστρα Αθηνών. Στο πόντιουμ της συναυλίας θα βρεθεί η νεότατη αρχιμουσικός από τη Λιθουανία, Ιζαμπέλ Γιανκαουσκάιτε, που αν και στα πρώτα της βήματα, έχει ήδη σημαντικές διακρίσεις και εμφανίσεις στο ενεργητικό της.
