Symfonische dansen laten tonnen energie op je los
‘Ik heb twee handicaps: ik ben een vrouw, en er stroomt Afro-Amerikaans bloed door mijn aderen.’ Aan het woord is Florence Price, wier Tweede vioolconcerto het ontdekken meer dan waard is. Chef-dirigent Gardner zet ook Elgar en Rachmaninov op de pupiter: in handen van het London Philharmonic Orchestra wordt dit zonder twijfel een feest voor de oren!

Those are the sadly all-too-accurate words of Florence Price, whose Second Violin Concerto is more than worth discovering. Chief conductor Gardner also brings us Elgar and Rachmaninov.
