Initiator, in 1607, of a genre promised to a vast future - the opera -, L'Orfeo follows the plot of the famous ancient legend. Monteverdi explores all the ingredients that will make the glory of lyrical theater: alchemy of timbres, alternation of arias and recitatives, skilful dramatic progression... Jordi Savall and his Concert des Nations offer us their interpretation of this original work.

Initiateur, en 1607, d’un genre promis à un vaste avenir — l’opéra —, L’Orfeo suit la trame de la fameuse légende antique. Monteverdi y explore tous les ingrédients qui feront la gloire du théâtre lyrique : alchimie des timbres, alternance airs-récitatifs, savante progression dramatique… Jordi Savall et son Concert des Nations nous offrent leur interprétation de cette œuvre originelle.
