CONCORDIA Social Projects is an aid organization that supports and accompanies children, young people and adults in extreme need in Romania, Bulgaria, Moldova, Kosovo and Austria on their way to an independent life. Compliance with children's rights is paramount. In the long term, the declared goal is to enable children and young people to lead a self-determined life without exclusion.

 

The Tyrolean Festival Erl would like to support the work of the Concordia social projects with the proceeds from this concert. Three monumental works by Ludwig van Beethoven were selected to coincide with Palm Sunday:
"The Consecration of the House" is about the reawakening of art after times of crisis. The "Choral Fantasy op. 80" was written immediately before its premiere as the final piece of Beethoven's great academy on December 22, 1808 in the Theater an der Wien. He improvised the piano fantasy with which the work begins freely in the concert – he wanted it to be understood as a punchline. "Christ on the Mount of Olives" is his only oratorio and tells of the last days before the crucifixion. Erik Nielsen, chief conductor of the Tyrolean Festival Erl, is the musical director and will also be heard as a pianist.

CONCORDIA Sozialprojekte ist eine Hilfsorganisation, die in extreme Not geratene Kinder, Jugendliche und Erwachsene in Rumänien, Bulgarien, Moldau, dem Kosovo und Österreich auf dem Weg in ein eigenverantwortliches Leben unterstützt und begleitet. Im Vordergrund steht die Einhaltung der Kinderrechte. Langfristig ist es das erklärte Ziel, Kindern und Jugendlichen ein selbstbestimmtes Leben ohne Ausgrenzung zu ermöglichen.

 

Die Tiroler Festspiele Erl möchten mit Einnahmen dieses Konzertes die Arbeit der Concordia Sozialprojekte unterstützen. Passend zum Palmsonntag wurden dafür drei monumentale Werke von Ludwig van Beethoven ausgewählt:
"Die Weihe des Hauses" handelt vom Wiedererwachen der Kunst nach Krisenzeiten. Die „Chorphantasie op. 80“ entstand unmittelbar vor deren Uraufführung als Schluss-Stück von Beethovens großer Akademie am 22. Dezember 1808 im Theater an der Wien. Die Klavierphantasie, mit der das Werk beginnt, improvisierte er im Konzert frei – er wollte sie als Pointe verstanden haben. „Christus am Ölberge“ ist sein einziges Oratorium und erzählt von den letzten Tagen vor der Kreuzigung. Erik Nielsen, Chefdirigent der Tiroler Festspiele Erl, hat die musikalische Leitung inne und wird auch als Pianist zu hören sein.
