It is known that theater can communicate with the most diverse groups of people because, among other things, it relies on suggestive means of expression and at the same time easily combines with all media and branches of art. The youngest children are often introduced to the world of art precisely in the theater using numerous interactive methods, without overly structured concepts, sometimes without (too much) narration, sensibly, synesthesia, etc., that is, through the most intuitive, human-born ways of artistic expression. Therefore, the MBZ festival for BIG little ones, wanting to open up to the youngest, this time chose a project that will provide the doubly safe shelter of the theater for their first explorations of music, sound, but also dance and other arts. Why doubly safe? Namely,

The co-production with HNK in Zagreb is proof that even the biggest "house" can be turned into a warm space for the smallest. In this sense, it should be emphasized that this project of the MBZ festival for BIG little ones is also the first in the upcoming "Musical palette" cycle, which MBZ wants to realize in cooperation with the leading institutions in the culture of the city of Zagreb. The aim of the cycle is to introduce children to the basic musical and musical-scene types and genres in an interesting and interactive way.

Just as in the space of this game, all children get an equal opportunity to enjoy, but also to create this joint work, so the authors of the concept saw their project as a collective effort in which every type of work - dramaturgy, costume design, musical performance, etc. - is equally important. a piece of the whole puzzle. At the end, the authors say the following:

Opera for babies is conceived as a joint interactive journey for big little ones and their little big ones. Set up as a living installation, in a pleasant, safe and soft space, it invites children to move freely and explore the world of music, sound and movement, created for them.

Taking the classic three-part structure as a backbone, we start from night, musically and contentally calm, gentle and warm, continue with morning, awakening and the birth of light, and end with day, celebration and play. We use the well-known routine of the day for babies, in order to introduce them to a new world. Four performers, each through their own medium (voice, movement, instrument), lead us on a journey from dream to dance, from dark to light, from abstract to concrete, from voice to words. With this approach, we want to introduce young and old to the new world of art, which is close to them, while simultaneously opening this world to them as a space for play and interaction, as a space for freedom and exploration with all the senses.
