Already in his early years of teaching and traveling, Johann Sebastian Bach created church music tone poems that are on a par with the masterpieces of his Leipzig creative phase. From the depth and fervor of the Weimar Passion Cantata “My Heart Swims in the Blood” it is easy to draw a line to the chamber music majesty of “Musical Sacrifice”. Joining Bach's major works is Christoph Graupner's shockingly intimate solo cantata “Ach Gott und Herr”.

Von der Tiefe und Inbrunst der Weimarer Passionskantate «Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut» lässt sich mühelos ein Bogen zur kammermusikalischen Erhabenheit des «Musikalischen Opfers» schlagen. Zu den Bachschen Grosswerken gesellt sich Christoph Graupners erschütternd innige Solo-Kantate «Ach Gott und Herr».
