The Broadway classic "My Fair Lady" makes George Bernard Shaw's satire "Pygmalion" sing and dance. The basis is an old myth: A man creates an ideal female image according to his ideas - but what if this being wants to become self-employed? Linguist Henry Higgins initially sees the street slang of the young, uneducated Eliza as just a scientific challenge and makes her the object of a bet among friends. As soon as Eliza can pronounce "It's green so green ..." perfectly and thus passes for a fine lady at the ball, she has lost her usefulness for him. Or have the boundaries between above and below, power and powerlessness, man and woman finally shifted?

In the production at the Hessian State Theater in Wiesbaden - as in the premiere of MY FAIR LADY in New York (1954) - the main roles are embodied by actors.
