Giuseppe Verdis «Nabucco» erzählt nicht nur von der grausamen Unterdrückung eines Volkes, sondern auch davon, was Machtgier und Grössenwahn innerhalb einer Familie anrichten können: Als Abigaille entdeckt, dass sie nicht König Nabuccos leibliche Tochter ist und damit ihr Anspruch auf Macht ungültig ist, schwört sie, den König und ihre Schwester Fenena ins Verderben zu stürzen…

Das Libretto von Temistocle Solera inspirierte Verdi zu musikalischen Höhenflügen: Mit «Va, pensiero, sull’ali dorate» schuf er den wohl berühmtesten Opernchor aller Zeiten. Die Uraufführung von «Nabucco» 1842 an der Mailänder Scala war der Beginn seiner triumphalen Karriere als Musikdramatiker.

Nach Verdis «Giovanna d’Arco» und Bellinis «I Capuleti e i Montecchi» zeichnen erneut Yves Lenoir und sein Team für die Inszenierung und Ausstattung verantwortlich. Die musikalische Leitung hat Franco Trinca inne. Freuen Sie sich auf eine hochkarätige Besetzung: Michele Govi übernimmt die Rolle des Nabucco, Leonardo Galeazzi verkörpert Zaccaria und Serenad Uyar singt Abigaille.
