Kompozytorzy często opowiadają muzyką o sobie samych, choćby nieświadomie i wbrew własnym artystycznym deklaracjom. Tak było w przypadku Allegro de Voiron, neoklasycznej perełki, w której Michał Spisak zawarł całą swą miłość do malowniczego miasteczka u podnóża Alp Francuskich, gdzie przyszło mu spędzić czas wojny. Utwór powstawał latami – rozpoczęty jeszcze w Voiron, ukończony w 1957 roku, już po powrocie do Paryża i ślubie z Andrée Thibault. Tak sprawy się mają z Koncertem „Latynoskim” Gabrieli Montero – pianistki, która wystarczająco dobrze zna swój instrument, by odmalować z jego udziałem sugestywny portret porzuconej w dzieciństwie ojczyzny. Tak zapewne też było z Życiem bohatera Ryszarda Straussa, który rzekomo chciał stworzyć muzyczną wizję archetypu herosa; zawarł w niej jednak tyle odniesień do swych wcześniejszych poematów symfonicznych, by wzbudzić podejrzenia, że bohaterem jest on sam. Zapraszamy w podróż: od Francji, przez Wenezuelę, aż po tajemne dziedziny, w których toczy się czas herosów.

Composers often tell a story about themselves through their music, even unconsciously and contrary to their own artistic declarations. This was the case with Allegro de Voiron , a neoclassical gem in which Michał Spisak encapsulated all his love for the picturesque town at the foot of the French Alps, where he spent the war. The work took years to write – begun in Voiron and completed in 1957, after returning to Paris and marrying Andrée Thibault. Such is the case with  the “Latin Concerto” by Gabriela Montero – a pianist who knows her instrument well enough to paint a suggestive portrait of her homeland abandoned in her childhood. It was probably the same with  Life of a HeroRichard Strauss, who allegedly wanted to create a musical vision of the hero archetype; however, he included enough references to his earlier symphonic poems to arouse suspicion that the hero was himself. We invite you on a journey: from France, through Venezuela, to the secret realms where the time of heroes takes place.
