Carl Orff Carmina Burana (in an arrangement by Anders Högstedt for reduced orchestral forces) It was a stroke of luck when, in 1934, Orff came across a collection of medieval song texts from the Benediktbeuern monastery. Deeply impressed, he used them to create a masterpiece of elemental power and captivating effect: the Carmina Burana. Her lyrics are sometimes lyrical, sometimes rough, and they cover a wide range of worldly themes, ranging from love and the fickleness of luck to gluttony and gambling addiction. The acclaimed Brno Philharmonic Choir returns to Dortmund for the performance conducted by General Music Director Gabriel Feltz. The top ensemble has already interpreted Mahler, Verdi and Rachmaninoff with the Dortmund Philharmonic, and this concert also promises to be a unique sound experience.
