Drottningholms Slottsteater's incoming music director and conductor Francesco Corti invites you to an atmospheric concert in Drottningholm's castle church together with soprano Marie Lys and musicians from Drottningholmsteatern's orchestra
The theater's incoming music director Francesco Corti is very well rooted in early music. He is a harpsichordist, organist, harpsichord player and conductor with a repertoire focused on baroque music and the classical period. He regularly leads orchestras such as Les Musiciens du Louvre and Pomo d'Oro and has made many CD recordings as a conductor, soloist and chamber musician. His latest CD Handel: Winged Hands. The Eight Great Suites & Overtures were just awarded the Diapason d'Or, an award for outstanding classical music recordings. Since 2016 he teaches harpsichord and basso continuo at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis in Basel, Switzerland, one of the world's leading music institutes for early music.

Swiss soprano Marie Lys has collaborated with conductors such as Diego Fasolis, Christophe Rousset, Emmanuelle Haïm and Dmitry Sinkovsky. Recently, she replaced Cecilia Bartoli in the title role in Handel's Alcina at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino festival. She performs opera roles throughout Europe, has received many singing awards and recorded Vivaldi's long-forgotten opera Argippo with Fabio Biondi and Europa Galante. In the Abchordi ensemble, she sings previously unknown baroque arias in a recording, Amate stelle, which will be released in 2023.

Han leder regelbundet orkestrar som Les Musiciens du Louvre och Pomo d’Oro och har gjort många cd-inspelningar som dirigent, solist och kammarmusiker. Hans senaste cd Handel: Winged Hands.
