Au diable le Brexit, le Royaume-Uni n’en a pas fini de se célébrer à Paris… Car le plus parisien des chefs d’orchestre écossais à avoir dirigé l’Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Douglas Boyd, revient tirer une révérence attendue et reportée. Avec bien sûr son compositeur de prédilection, Haydn, et l’une de ses symphonies « parisiennes » les plus célèbres, surnommée « L’Ours » à cause de son finale dansant en forme de rondo. Quant au concerto pour piano n° 3 du même Haydn, il bénéficiera des lumières d’un pianiste de marque : Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, qui interprétera ici sa propre cadence. A ce tableau baigné par les lumières de Turner s’ajouteront le très solennel Elgar et le très moderne George Benjamin. Preuve s’il en fallait que la musique a toujours porté avec elle la plus cordiale entente, d’une rive à l’autre de la Manche.

Because the most Parisian of Scottish conductors to have led the Orchestre de chambre de Paris, Douglas Boyd, returns to make an expected and postponed bow. With, of course, his favourite composer, Haydn, and one of his most famous "Parisian" symphonies, nicknamed "The Bear" because of its dancing rondo-like finale. As for Haydn's Piano Concerto No. 3, it will benefit from the lights of a distinguished pianist: Jean-Efflam Bavouzet, who will perform his own cadenza here.
