This concert evening, Ken-David Masur is back in Kilden, after last season's successful collaboration. Dmitri Shostakovich's concerto for piano and trumpet is a highly entertaining work with frequent changes of character and brilliant melody.
Soloists are KSO solo trumpeter Jens Forus and the successful Norwegian pianist Christian Grøvlen.
The Franco-Belgian composer César Franck's Symphony in D minor from 1888 offers both sweeping, undulating melodies, grand orchestral outbursts and low-key, subtle passages. Lean back, lower your shoulders, and let the music flow over you!
