They are all alike, or the School of Lovers, is the title of the third opera which emerged from the artistic partnership between  the librettist Lorenzo da Ponte and the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. At first, Salieri tried to set the libretto to music but soon he abandoned this idea, and the story about a seemingly harmless bet on women’s faithfulness ended up in the most professional hands. In people’s relationships, nothing is just black or white and that is especially truein this opera. Mozart continued his previous works, Don Giovanni and The Marriage of Figaro, which cannot be  easily categorized – as there is always a wicked smile peeping out from these dramas, or tears and anger hidden behind laughter. The same applies for this opera: two young guys, Ferrando and Guglielmo, encouraged by the sceptic Don Alfonzo, disguise themselves as foreigners to test the faithfulness of their fiancées.  However, before the game ends, they are caught in a web of emotions because of this false game. The audience of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century considered this  subject matter vulgar and immoral, and Cosi fan tutte almost disappeared from opera stages. Today, it rightfully belongsamong the most frequently produced operas – as not only are its arias and ensembles great opera hits but the work produced by Mozart through contrast and musical expression, is a real jewel of the operatic repertoire.

„So machen es alle oder Die Schule der Liebenden“, so lautet der Titel der dritten Oper, die aus der künstlerischen Zusammenarbeit des Librettisten Lorenzo da Ponte und des Komponisten Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart entstand. Als Erster versuchte sich Salieri an der Vertonung des Librettos, aber bald gab er es auf, und die Geschichte von einer scheinbar harmlosen Wette um die Frauentreue kam in die kompetentesten Hände. Die menschlichen Beziehungen sind nämlich nie schwarz-weiß, und in dieser Oper gilt dies umso mehr. Mozart knüpfte darin an seine vorherigen Werke Don Giovanni und Figaros Hochzeit an, die kaum zu klassifizieren sind – immer wieder schimmert in dem Drama ein schelmisches Lächeln durch, und hinter dem Lachen verbergen sich des Öfteren Tränen und Ärger. So ist es auch hier: Zwei Jünglinge, Ferrando und Guglielmo, angestiftet von dem skeptischen Don Alfonso, verkleiden sich als Fremde, um die Treue ihrer Verlobten auf die Probe zu stellen. Ehe jedoch das Stück zu Ende geht, verfangen sie sich selbst in dem Netz des falschen Spiels mit den Gefühlen. Im 19. und zu Anfang des 20. Jahrhunderts hielt das Publikum das Sujet für vulgär und unmoralisch, und Così fan tutte verschwand fast vollständig von den Opernbühnen. Heute gehört es hingegen zu den meistgespielten Opern, und das zu Recht – einzelne Arien und Ensembles wurden zu Opernhits, und das gesamte Werk, das Mozart auf dem Kontrast und einem durchgearbeiteten musikalischen Ausdruck aufbaute, ist ein wahres Juwel des Opernrepertoires.

Takové jsou všechny aneb Škola milenců, tak zní titul třetí opery, která vznikla z uměleckého partnerství libretisty Lorenza da Ponteho a skladatele Wolfganga Amadea Mozarta, příběh o na první pohled ne­škodné sázce o ženskou věrnost. V lidských vztazích ale nikdy nic není černobílé a v této opeře to platí obzvlášť. Mozart tak vlastně navázal na předešlá díla Don Giovanni a Figarova svatba, která lze těžko zařadit do přesné škatulky – vždy z nich na nás mezi dramatem vykukuje uličnický úsměv, a naopak za smíchem se ledaskdy skrývají slzy a hněv.

Tak tomu je i zde – dva mladíci Ferrando a Guglielmo ponoukáni skeptickým donem Alfonsem se převléknou za cizince, aby vyzkoušeli věrnost svých snoubenek. Jenže než celá hra skončí, uváznou ve vlastní síti falešné hry s city. Příběh stále aktuální.
