Purcell gala 2: Opera Gala Various

In het Purcell Gala 1 dat we met succes in 2009 in het Concertgebouw speelden, legden wij de nadruk op de `jonge' Purcell. We namen het publiek mee door het Londen van de zeventiende eeuw, van de kapel naar het theater via de kroeg en het internaat waar Dido werd gespeeld.

 

In het Purcell Gala 2 laten we ons publiek de `rijpe' Purcell kennen, enerzijds de hofmusicus van de Nederlander Willem III en diens vrouw Mary, anderzijds de bevlogen theaterman.

In the  Purcell Gala 1  , which we played successfully in 2009 in the Concertgebouw, we emphasized the `young' Purcell. We took the audience through seventeenth century London, from the chapel to the theater through the pub and boarding school where Dido was played.

 

In the Purcell Gala 2 we let our audience get to know the `mature' Purcell, on the one hand the court musician of the Dutchman Willem III and his wife Mary, on the other hand the inspired theater man.
