L’attachant duo formé par William Christie au clavecin et Théotime Langlois de Swarte au violon est un symbole remarquable du passage de témoin entre générations. Les deux artistes ont en commun un amour inconditionnel de cette musique de chambre française trop peu explorée à leur goût. Les sonates de Leclair et Senaillé qu’ils ont choisi d’enregistrer avant de les présenter au public, semblent avoir été écrites de l’autre côté des Alpes tant elles sont contrastées, bouillonnantes et rythmées. Un terrain de jeu idéal pour ces deux grands artistes !

The engaging duo formed by William Christie on the harpsichord and Théotime Langlois de Swarte on the violin is a remarkable symbol of the passing of the baton between generations. The two artists have in common an unconditional love of this French chamber music too little explored for their taste. The sonatas by Leclair and Senaillé that they have chosen to record before presenting them to the public, seem to have been written on the other side of the Alps, so contrasting, bubbling and rhythmic are they.
