Musical Theater named after K.S. Stanislavsky and Vl. I. Nemirovich-Danchenko presents the first production in Russia of Jacques Offenbach's comic opera Robinson Crusoe. The production team of the performance included director Alexander Titel, conductor Arif Dadashev and artist Vladimir Arefiev. The Russian text of the dialogues and vocal numbers was written by Alexei Ivashchenko by order of the theatre.

The operetta Robinson Crusoe was first staged in Paris in 1867. Less than a year later, premieres took place in Vienna and Brussels, a little later they met Robinson Crusoe in the USA. A new surge of interest in the operetta in the 20th century is associated with productions in London and Paris and a recording released on the Opera Rara label in 1981.

The libretto of the operetta was based on the motifs of Daniel Defoe's book, which is still popular today, telling about the adventures of a sailor who found himself on a desert island. However, the authors of the comic opera quite freely interpret the plot of the novel. His fiancée Jadwiga goes in search of the missing Robinson, and soon a rather motley company gathers on a desert island.

Says the director of the play Alexander Titel :

“This is the story of the “prodigal sons”, who hourly discover the world for themselves and for us. It is they who fly into space, move science, create art. Curiosity, thirst for risk, adventurism - it's great! In the luxurious Offenbach ensembles there are adventures and discoveries, love and a sea of ​​​​pure joy that we want to share with our public, for which we will even settle down closer to it.

Музыкальный театр им К.С. Станиславского и Вл. И. Немировича-Данченко представляет первую в России постановку комической оперы Жака Оффенбаха «Робинзон Крузо». В постановочную группу спектакля вошли режиссер Александр Титель, дирижер Ариф Дадашев и художник Владимир Арефьев. Русский текст диалогов и вокальных номеров по заказу театра написал Алексей Иващенко.

Оперетта «Робинзон Крузо» была впервые поставлена в Париже в 1867 году. Меньше чем через год состоялись премьеры в Вене и Брюсселе, чуть позже с «Робинзоном Крузо» познакомились в США. Новый всплеск интереса к оперетте в XX веке связан с постановками в Лондоне и Париже и записью, вышедшей на лейбле Opera Rara в 1981 году.

В основу либретто оперетты легли мотивы популярной и в наши дни книги Даниэля Дефо, рассказывающей о приключениях моряка, оказавшегося на необитаемом острове. Однако авторы комической оперы весьма вольно трактуют сюжет романа. На поиски пропавшего Робинзона отправляется его невеста Ядвига, и вскоре на необитаемом острове собирается довольно пестрая компания.

«Это история «блудных сыновей», ежечасно открывающих мир для себя и для нас. Именно они летят в космос, двигают науку, творят искусство. Любопытство, жажда риска, авантюризм – это же здорово! В роскошных оффенбаховских ансамблях – приключения и открытия, любовь и море чистой радости, которыми мы хотим поделиться с нашей публикой, ради чего даже расположимся к ней поближе».
