For the first time, the popular Romance series in the Konserthuset is guested by a countertenor. A male singer who, through his falsetto, can sing in the same voice position as female sopranos, altos or mezzo-sopranos. One of the foremost is Ukrainian Yuriy Mynenko who regularly appears with the world's top conductors and orchestras on stages such as the Cologne Opera, the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in Paris, the Opéra Royal in Versailles and the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam. 

We also meet the Åland coloratura soprano Sofie Asplund who excelled in the role of Zerbinetta in Richard Strauss's Ariadne on Naxos both at the Gothenburg Opera and the Royal Opera in Stockholm. She has also portrayed Anne Truelove in Stravinsky's Rucklarens väg in performances at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Philharmonie de Paris, and the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg.

Together with pianist Magnus Svensson, Asplund and Mynenko interpret music by Richard Strauss, Sibelius, the Polish late romantic Mieczysław Karłowicz and Ukraine's most famous contemporary composer, Valentin Silvestrov.

Pianist Magnus Svensson specializes in the art of romance and has been the artistic director of the romance series for several seasons. In addition to concert activities in the Nordics and the rest of Europe, he has also played in Russia and the USA. Since 2012, he has also been working at the Royal Academy of Music with reissues of older Swedish music.

För första gången gästas den populära Romansserien i Konserthuset av en countertenor. En manlig sångare som genom sin falsett kan sjunga i samma röstläge som kvinnliga sopraner, altar eller mezzosopraner. En av de främsta är ukrainske Yuriy Mynenko som regelbundet framträder med världens toppdirigenter och orkestrar på scener som Kölnoperan, Théâtre des Champs-Élysées i Paris, Opéra Royal i Versailles och Concertgebouw i Amsterdam. 

Vi möter också den åländska koloratursopranen Sofie Asplund som briljerat i rollen som Zerbinetta i Richard Strauss Ariadne på Naxos både på Göteborgsoperan och Kungliga Operan i Stockholm. Hon har också gestaltat Anne Truelove i Stravinskys Rucklarens väg i föreställningar på Concertgebouw i Amsterdam, Philharmonie de Paris, och Elbphilharmonie i Hamburg.

Pianisten Magnus Svensson har romanskonsten som specialitet och är sedan flera säsonger tillbaka konstnärlig ledare för romansserien. Vid sidan om konsertverksamhet i Norden och övriga Europa har han också spelat i Ryssland och USA. Sedan 2012 arbetar han även på Kungliga Musikaliska Akademien med återutgivning av äldre svensk musik.
