Raphaël Pichon and his Pygmalion ensemble meet with soprano Sabine Devieilhe for an exceptional concert at the Philharmonie de Paris.

 

After having dedicated themselves to the Mozartian repertoire with the discs “Mozart & The Weber Sisters” or “Libertà! Mozart & the opera”, Sabine Devieilhe and Raphaël Pichon’s Pygmalions return to Bach and Handel. In October 2017, they had already devoted an entire concert to Bach at the Philharmonie de Paris. This time they perform the cantata for solo soprano “Mein Herze schwimmt im Blut”, composed in 1714 in Weimar and given several times in the following years, which draws in an almost operatic style an itinerary from the pain of the sinner to the joy of the reconciliation of the soul with God.
