We are waiting at the terminal shortly before departure.  Anticipation is paired with a slight discomfort, a touch of fear mixes with the enthusiasm of the new departure.  Reinhard Mey already wrote: "Above the clouds, freedom must be limitless!"  In any case, at the airport we meet people on the threshold of something new.  Where do you want to go, where do you come from?  And are they more concerned with one or the other?  Are you running away from something or do you have a goal?  In his first full-length musical, Jason Robert Brown combines different stories, characters and locations into an evening about new beginnings, old calculations and new ideas, about melancholy looking back and courageous departure.  There is the man who firmly believes in the big breakthrough, and there is the woman who mourns the one great love.  We get to know a couple who meet again after years of separation and a woman who, in her desperation, is determined to the utmost.  Because this new world does not only exist on a large scale, it also exists for everyone: n of us, at least as a dream, as a longing, as a horror, as a possibility.
