It is with one of Rossini's masterpieces that Myung-Whun Chung opens the Festival at the head of the Philharmonic Orchestra and the Radio France Choir and with a sumptuous vocal quartet including two young talents to follow: Selene Zanetti , soprano who has just triumphed in La Bohème at the Teatro di San Carlo in Naples and tenor Xabier Anduaga, winner of the 2019 Operalia Competition. At their side, two sure values: Marianna Pizzolato and Gianluca Buratto. A real triumph when first performed in Paris and then in Bologna in 1842, the famous Stabat Mater, one of Rossini's most lyrical compositions, still enchants us today.

C’est avec un des chefs-d’œuvre de Rossini que Myung-Whun Chung ouvre le Festival à la tête de l’Orchestre Philharmonique et du Chœur de Radio France et avec un quatuor vocal somptueux dont deux jeunes talents à suivre : Selene Zanetti, soprano qui vient de triompher dans La Bohème au Teatro di San Carlo de Naples et le ténor Xabier Anduaga, Vainqueur du Concours Operalia 2019. À leurs côtés, deux valeurs sûres : Marianna Pizzolato et Gianluca Buratto. 
Véritable triomphe à sa création à Paris puis à Bologne en 1842, le célèbre Stabat Mater, l’une des compositions les plus lyriques de Rossini, nous enchante aujourd’hui encore.
