The Brodsky Album.

At the end of January 2022, Musique des Lumières returns to the new stage of the Théâtre du Jura and to the Salle de l'Inter in Porrentruy with an original project: this is the third stage of the Music & Words project. In this new record series, carried out in collaboration with the Spanish label IBS Classical, MdL places orders with current composers, for the creation of new works inspired by the great literary authors of our time. 

The first project, created in the Jura in 2014, was dedicated to Julio Cortázar, “the most French of Argentinian authors”. This project resulted in the record production Generación Cortázar (IBS Classical). The second disc in the series pays tribute to Friedrich Dürrenmatt, in collaboration with the CDN Neuchâtel. This second volume will be published in autumn 2021.

In its Opening Season, the Théâtre du Jura welcomes the third volume of the series, entitled “The Brodsky Album”. Five composers (in three continents) were invited by MdL to compose on the enigmatic poems of Joseph Brodsky, Nobel Prize winner for literature in 1987. This production will give rise to a new discographic production, always in association with the label IBS Classics. 

Two concerts are now on the agenda in Porrentruy and Delémont, as well as three days of recording. Likewise, in the presence of the composers, a day of mediation and a round table * open to the public and to literature students of the Swiss Literary Institute, will be held on the stage of the Theater on January 26, 22 at 7:00 p.m.
