Because the higher, the better! After the »heart breakers« and the »prima donnas« the dark voices from our soloist ensemble now also show what »deep feelings« their voice ranges are capable of. In a popular mix of classics from their repertoire, from Bizet and Donizetti to Lortzing and Verdi, combined with amusing »crossover« excursions, they play with traditional role registers and prove that they have other skills than wise fathers, loyal wet nurses or brave rulers. In fact, the deep voices have a much greater freedom and sometimes make a detour to the opposite sex. Because: There has always been talk in the theater, and so the mezzo-soprano slips into a trouser role from the seductive Carmen, while the pithy bass maybe comes along in a dress.
