The Slovakian conductor Juraj Valčuha and the Russian pianist Anna Vinnitskaya, who lives in Hamburg, have been closely associated with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra for several years. Now they are teaming up to bring "their Sergejs" to the stage.

Outstandingly beautiful: Rachmaninoff Piano Concertos
The first Sergej (Rachmaninoff) would have turned 150 this year and is a celebration for all pianists. A celebrated keyboard lion himself, he wrote his guild four outstandingly beautiful and exceptionally difficult to play piano concertos.
While Vinnitskaya begins her Rachmaninoff birthday marathon with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra with the rarely played Concerto in G minor No. 4 , the more well-known Concerto No. 2 in C minor is on the program at the end of the Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Festival, which has also already been performed in a recording with the NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra .

The second Sergei (Prokofiev) created a feast for every orchestra with his monumental Fifth Symphony.
