We have two relevant and memorable fundamental experiences from the Metropolitan: The 1983 video recording of "The Power of Fate” featuring Leontyne Price's ethereal and pure Leonora, and a 1996 television broadcast with Plácido Domingo in the role of the persecuted Alvaro. Now, it's time for us to witness the 21st-century production of La Forza del Destino, re-imagined with a modern-day setting by acclaimed director Mariusz Treliński. At only in her mid-thirties, Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen has conquered the world of opera, taking on iconic female roles from Ariadne to the Marschallin, and Leonora in Fidelio. This time, she is preparing to add another notable Leonora to her repertoire, promising a momentous occasion in operatic history. As Don Alvaro, the American tenor Brian Jagde, who has been regularly performing at the Metropolitan since 2014, takes the stage.

The superior quality broadcasts in Müpa Budapest are screened in the original language with Hungarian and English subtitles.

A Metropolitanből így is lehet két idevágó és emlékezetes alapélményünk: A végzet hatalma 1983-as videófelvétele - Leontyne Price éterien tiszta Leonorájával, valamint egy 1996-os tévéközvetítés - Plácido Domingóval a sorsüldözött Alvaro szerepében. De most itt az idő, hogy elkészüljön és eljusson hozzánk a Met 21. századi La forza del destino-produkciója: a lengyel sztárrendező, Mariusz Treliński koncepciója révén éppenséggel a jelenkorba áthelyezett cselekménnyel. A még mindig csupán a harmincas évei közepén járó norvég szoprán, Lise Davidsen mára meghódította az operavilágot és egyszersmind az opera világának megannyi emblematikus női főszerepét: Ariadnétól a Tábornagynéig és a Fidelio Leonorájáig. Ezúttal a másik nevezetes Leonorát készül repertoárjára venni, s ez az esemény operatörténeti pillanatot ígér. Don Alvaróként a Metropolitanben 2014 óta rendszeresen fellépő amerikai tenor, Brian Jagde lép a színpadra.
