Für die Bürger der Stadt gibt es kein Halten, Männer zücken ihre Waffen, Schüsse hallen durch die Straßen, Ernten gehen ein, Tiere sterben, Plagen biblischen Ausmaßes ereilen die Gesellschaft. In »Violet« verbindet sich zum ersten Mal der verspielte und verführerische musikalische Stil Tom Coults – welcher für hochkarätige Auftraggeber wie das BBC Symphony Orchestra komponiert – mit der Sprachkunst und den starken Frauencharakteren Alice Birchs, die unter anderem mit dem Filmdrehbuch zu »Lady Macbeth« von sich reden machte. 2022 wird die Kammeroper »Violet« beim renommierten Aldeburgh Festival in Großbritannien uraufgeführt und gelangt am Theater Ulm erstmals in Deutschland auf die Bühne – ein Musiktheater aus der Gegenwart für die Gegenwart.
