When it comes to Andrew Lloyd Webber (*1948), who doesn't first think of "Cats", "Jesus Christ Superstar" or the "Phantom of the Opera" - as a musical composer he is a "superstar", but his Requiem has also attracted worldwide attention. Despite the grand tonal gesture and Grammy Award, the work from 1985 is committed to a very personal matter: the memory of Webber's father, who died in 1982.

Wer denkt bei Andrew Lloyd Webber (*1948) nicht zuerst an „Cats“, „Jesus Christ Superstar“ oder das „Phantom der Oper“ – als Musicalkomponist ist er ein „Superstar“, aber auch sein Requiem hat es zu weltweiter Beachtung gebracht. Dabei ist das Werk aus dem Jahr 1985 trotz großer klanglicher Geste und Grammy Award einem sehr persönlichen Anliegen verpflichtet: dem Gedenken an Webbers 1982 verstorbenen Vater.
