The german Tenor Thorsten Büttner was born in the region in Stuttgart, where he already, as a boy soprano, sang lots of solo roles at the State Opera Stuttgart. He studied at the University Mozarteum Salzburg opera voice and graduated as the best of his vintage. In 2008 he was part of the first ‚Young Singers Project‘ at Salzburg Festival’. Thorsten Büttner already got honored for his successes with the ‚Lilly-Lehman- Medal’ as well with the ‚Gottlob-Frick-Medal’ and got nominated as ‚best upcoming singer‘ by the magazine ‚Opernwelt‘ in 2011 for the title role of ‚Idomeneo‘.
